DocumentCenter · Meeting of January 6, 2026
North Reading Planning Commission backed a Central Street sidewalk project despite mixed feedback from residents directly affected. The CPC decided not to recommend that the Department of Public Works withdraw its $200,000 capital request, positioning the town to seek up to $1 million in state grant funding. A resident survey found 165 total responses with majority support overall, but opinion split evenly among those whose properties would be directly impacted: 16 opposed, 17 in favor.
The commission also voted 3-0 to endorse plans for 70 Main Street.
