NORTH READING — Community Planning Commission continues hearing on proposed Elm Street childcare facility to August 4. The CPC voted unanimously on July 21 to defer the site plan review for Little Treasures Schoolhouse, a proposed 148-child early childhood education facility, following extensive public comment on traffic and infrastructure impacts. Residents raised safety concerns about the Elm Street-Orchard Drive intersection, where vehicles have previously left the roadway and struck neighboring properties, and questioned whether traffic projections adequately reflected drop-off operations.
Residents also raised stormwater management and noise concerns. Attorney Chris Latham, representing the applicant, indicated the team would provide additional information on traffic operations, parking management, and noise mitigation before the August 4 hearing.
