NORTH READING — Fire Station Building Committee authorized test fits for two potential headquarters sites. The committee voted unanimously on April 7 to authorize Tecton to evaluate 86 Main Street combined with 84 Main Street, and 73 Main Street combined with 75 Main Street for fire station programming. The sites are being considered as part of the effort to locate a new fire station that meets operational and geographic requirements.

Lynch Construction purchased 86 Main Street in February for $2,000,000; 97 Main Street, also under consideration, remains under Stop & Shop ownership with a closing date approaching.
