Fire Station Subcommittee Narrows West Side Candidate List

The Fire Station Building subcommittee narrowed its candidate list of potential parcels for a west side station.

DocumentCenter · Meeting of January 6, 2026

NORTH READING — The Fire Station Building subcommittee narrowed its candidate list of potential parcels for a west side station. Rebecca Hopkins of Tecton presented site information for each property, including size, wetland maps, and setbacks, and showed a sample test fit for 86 Main Street on 1.1 acres, noting the site could serve as a substation but had limitations for future growth. The committee directed Hopkins to provide a ranking document with evaluation criteria by Thursday, with members to complete their review by Monday before the next meeting on January 13 at 5 p.m.

Parcels at 132 and 134 Main Street were added to the candidate list, and the property owners' letter was approved for distribution with Mr. Parisi and Chief Don Stats designated as contacts.
