NORTH READING — Select Board authorized $5.61 million in municipal bonds for capital projects. The board voted 3-0 to approve general obligation bonds and $945,577 in bond anticipation notes for approximately 11 capital projects, with Finance Director Laurianne Galvin announcing the town's bond rating upgraded from AA2 to AA1 due to tax base growth, fiscal management, increased reserves, and reduced long-term liabilities. The board imposed Level 2 Water Use Restriction effective immediately on a 3-1 vote with member Masse dissenting, and approved a Sustainable Purchasing Policy by the same 3-1 vote.

The Select Board also approved licenses for Santa Fe Burrito Grill at 109 Main Street and proclaimed May 31 as Beyond Bagels Day.
