NORTH READING — The Transportation Committee recommended Sebastian Masiello for Select Board appointment while reporting level funding for an anticipated MassDOT grant. The committee, which met January 27, reported that the grant award for July 2026 through December 2027 was anticipated at $50,000 for fiscal 2027 and $25,000 for the following six months, level-funded from the current year's $50,000 award. The committee also reported acquiring a new vehicle with a wheelchair ramp and noted it was ahead on grant spending.
Diane Norris reported contact with Brad Jones's office and committed to following up with the MBTA's legislative liaison. Larry Soucie and Sebastian Masiello agreed to work on a Lahey grant application.
