Free concert series kicks off Wednesday at Ipswich River Park as North Reading's summer community programming gets underway.

NORTH READING -- The Friends of North Reading Parks & Recreation and the Parks & Recreation Committee are co-sponsoring a five-week Summer 2026 Free Concert and BBQ series beginning Wednesday, June 24, at Ipswich River Park. Events start at 5 p.m. and will continue on consecutive Wednesdays through July 22. The series is open to community members of all ages and raises funds to support Parks & Recreation programs. All dates are subject to weather-related cancellations or rescheduling; updates will be posted on the Friends of North Reading Parks & Recreation Facebook page.

TOWN -- The department's Spring 2026 program brochure is posted and online registration is open at the Parks & Recreation website. Residents without an existing account can create one to receive email notifications about programs and updates. Groups of 10 or more, or any fee-based program, must obtain a field or park permit in advance; contact the department at 978-357-5216 or recreation@northreadingma.gov. Community members are reminded that school facilities — including the track and tennis courts — are not available for public use during school hours or afternoon school athletics sessions.
