The Town of North Reading announced Oct. 23 that it will provide curbside collection of yard waste, including grass clippings, leaves and small branches, on two Saturdays: Oct. 24 and Nov. 21. Residents must place materials curbside by 6:30 a.m. on those dates.

The town's collection guidelines prohibit plastic bags and barrels. Branches must be no more than 3 inches in diameter, cut into lengths of 3 feet or less, and bundled and tied rather than bagged.

In addition to curbside pickup, North Reading residents can drop off yard waste at the DPW facility at 166 Chestnut St. The site is open Saturdays from April 1 through Nov. 30, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Sundays in November from noon to 4 p.m.

The town also allows residents to drop off waste oil at the same DPW facility on the last Saturday of each month from April through November, between 8 a.m. and noon.
