The Town of North Reading announced Oct. 20 that its contractor, D&R General Contracting, will begin paving the final roadway surface course on Turner Drive starting Oct. 21 at about 7 a.m. The work is expected to be completed by Oct. 23, weather permitting.

No street parking will be allowed during the work, and all vehicles must be removed from the road for its duration. Crews will work from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Residents should expect travel delays on the affected streets. The Department of Public Works, the North Reading Police Department and the contractor will work to get residents in and out of their driveways as needed. Emergency vehicles and school buses will be allowed passage, and police officers will be present during the work.

Once the roadway paving is finished, the contractor will return to complete sidewalks, driveway aprons and remaining punch list items. The entire project is expected to be complete by Nov. 7.

The town thanked residents for their cooperation. Questions about the work can be directed to the DPW main line at 978-357-5260. For other project-related questions, residents can contact Dan O'Donnell, the town engineer, at dodonnell@northreadingma.gov.
